Questions,
answered plainly.

Including the ones with awkward answers. If something here is not covered, ask us directly.

Is EV SUN light ultraviolet? Is it safe to be under?

No. EV SUN emits no ultraviolet light at all. That is the central difference from UV-C germicidal systems, which require rooms to be empty while they run. EV SUN light has also been assessed as non-irritant to skin and eyes under OECD in-vitro test guidelines 439 and 492, so rooms stay in normal use while the technology works.

Does it work when the lights are switched off?

No. The technology is activated by the light itself, so it works only while the fixture is on. In practice that covers the hours a room is actually in use — which is when people are present and protection matters most.

How quickly does it work?

It is cumulative rather than instant. Independent testing measured roughly 33% bacterial reduction after five minutes, 53% after an hour, and over 99% after six hours of continuous exposure at 60 cm. Anyone claiming an immediate effect is overstating what this or any similar technology does.

Does this replace cleaning?

No, and we would not want it presented that way. EV SUN lighting supports environmental hygiene alongside normal cleaning practice. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for cleaning, ventilation or infection-control procedures.

Will it work in any size of room?

Results vary with room size, ceiling height, air movement, humidity, cleaning regime and how many fixtures are installed. Published figures come from controlled testing at a set distance. For a specific space, tell us the dimensions and hours of use and we will suggest a fitting schedule.

Does the technology wear out or need replacing?

Resonance frequency technology is engineered into the fixture rather than added to it, so there is no cartridge, filter or consumable to replace. The fixture is maintained like any other luminaire.

Do the VYRO lamps have the same technology as the EV SUN fixtures?

Yes. The Lumora and Aura ranges are powered by EV SUN, carrying the same resonance frequency technology found across the EV SUN range. Published performance figures were measured on EV SUN fixtures under specific test conditions; a decorative lamp distributes light differently, so treat those figures as evidence for the technology rather than a guarantee for every fitting.

What is the difference between EVSUN and VYRO products?

EV SUN covers architectural and utility lighting — downlights, panels, battens, tubes, vapor fittings and high bays. VYRO covers decorative lighting — the Lumora task and floor lamps and the Aura pendants. Both carry the same underlying technology; they differ in form and where they are used.

Can I see the test reports?

Yes. Complete third-party test documentation — methods, organisms, exposure conditions and results — is available to architects, consultants and procurement teams on request. Contact us and we will arrange it.

Is the light flicker-free?

Yes. Fixtures are engineered for stable, flicker-free output with low glare, which is what reduces eye strain over long periods — the reason it suits offices, classrooms and reading spaces.

Do you supply for projects and commercial fit-outs?

Yes. Several products are quoted per project rather than sold at a fixed price, including vapor fittings, panels and high bays. Send us the space details and we will come back with a schedule and pricing.
